On the border that separates South Africa from Sawziland is the community of Bulembu. Once a thriving mining town, Bulembu was abandoned in 2000 along with its hospital and 1200 homes. Kevin Ward, director of Teen Challenge Swaziland, purchased the town and has a grand vision: To renovate as many homes as necessary to house 2,000 children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic of Swaziland, teach AIDS awareness, and have a self-sustaining community through the start-up of various cottage industry initiatives.

As a child, living on the Navajo Reservation, you stand a better than 90% chance of being sexually abused. In 1985, Linda Russell, founded North American Outreach Ministries, Inc. (NAOMI) to rescue children who had been abused, provide education to social workers, and create a loving environment where children can live safely and without fear of abuse. In the town of Joseph City, Arizona, Linda established NAOMI House to do just that. Your Mission Discovery short term mission trip team is invited to come and serve at the home.

On January 12th, 2010 Haiti was rocked by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake. The capital city of Port-au-Prince and the surrounding communities and cities to the south and south west were devastated. While the world came quickly to the aide of Haiti, long term solutions for the poorest nation in the western hemesphere have been slow.

Help change your world and theirs! It's a week of service and refreshment for ladies. You've seen Jamaica's beautiful beaches and tourist destinations featured in television commercials. But behind the scenes of the city are communities struggling like never before. 69.2% of people living in Jamaica make their living from service industries like hotels. In the world's new economy, fewer people are vacationing, and so unemployment is rising. With the rise of unemployment come the side effects.

This is no regular college Spring break mission trip. We need you! Mission Discovery takes you to the second poorest country in Central America. There you will serve in one or all of three locations. Daily you'll be a part of a vital construction project. Teams in the past have built homes, laid block for a classroom at a school, delivered Eco-Water Filters to provide pure drinking water, painted a school, help care for disabled children at a nearby orphanage and even lead a sports event at a public school!

Haiti is a small country or 8 million people located about 800 miles southeast of Miami. Haiti shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic. The city of Port de Paix is located on the northern coast of Haiti, about a 40 minute commuter plane ride from the capital of Port au Prince. Haiti is an amazing place. It is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and yet very rich in opportunity. Even though the people of Haiti are resilient and hardworking, few can find jobs. Poverty hangs over Haiti like thick smog blocking even the smallest rays of hope for so many.
