Watch your team make a difference in deep south Texas! 

Hidalgo is the poorest county in the US (of counties with a population over 250,000 people). Through partnerships with other ministries in the Rio Grande Valley, we have identified many families with great needs. Working in some of the poorest colonias just north of Mission, TX, teams will lead Children's Bible School and serve in vital community service projects, such as building playgrounds, repairing homes, and installing ramps for the disabled.

Teams will also experience a trip to South Padre Island for a day at the beach! The Rio Grande Valley was once flooded with tourism to Mexico, but now it is facing a sharp decline due to the events that have occurred in the past two years.

Short-term mission teams who were looking to improve the quality of life for families living on both sides of the border have moved to other locations, leaving this area seemingly forgotten but still in great need. Mission Discovery will not forget our friends on both sides of the border.
